Gymnastics

Brody and Chase took a gymnastics class again this summer.  It was great for the kids to be able to run around in the comfort of air conditioning, however during one class there was a scare.  Chase jumped into the foam square pit and Laura reached in to get him by grabbing his arm and pulling him out.  A few minutes later Laura and the coach noticed that Chase wasn't very happy and was grabbing his right arm.  Chase wouldn't reach for anything with his right arm.  Nobody saw him fall down and they couldn't figure out what happened.  Laura took Chase to the children's ER at Memorial West.  The doctor started pulling and twisting Chase's arm and said, "yep that's it."  Laura said, "that's what?"  The doctor said "all done."  Chase immediately grabbed for a snack with his right arm and was all better.  He had Nursemaid's Elbow.  Apparently, Laura pulled his right arm out of his elbow socket.  Kids under the age of 3 don't have mature joints and are prone to dislocations.  Luckily this doctor realized it right away and fixed it quickly.
