Weekend in Orlando

We had a little weekend getaway to Orlando. We stayed at the Gaylord Palms which was terrific. The pool area was amazing with an awesome set of slides that the kids loved!

We had a great time at the Crayola Experience. There were quite a few exhibits that we all enjoyed. The best part was that it was indoors and air conditioned!

We went over to the Disney Art of Animation Resort to check out the Cars themed courtyard outside of the hotel. Why didn't they build that into Hollywood Studios or something? It was beyond amazing. We spent a good 30 minutes just taking pictures and checking out all the cars. Afterwards, we ate lunch at the resort's food court to cap off a very fun and economical family morning.

Laura also planned a trip over to Orlando Brewing. They had a great selection of beers including a stout and a porter that I really enjoyed.

Overall it was a great weekend. We even were able to fit in trips to Zaxby's and Uno Pizzeria.

Trip to Chicago

We took a trip to Chicago to see our friends Sophie and Ryan. It just so happened that the NFL Draft was the same weekend. Some of the highlights were visiting the Shedd Aquarium, taking the boys to their first Cubs game at Wrigley, visiting the Navy Pier, having a great dinner at Benny's Chop House, another great meal at Lou Malnati's, and going to the Maggie Daley Park.
