Brody Entertaining Chase

Brody loves to make Chase laugh.  The other day he was running around while Chase was eating in his high chair.  Chase thought it was the funniest thing in the world when Brody's fireman hat fell off.



The boys also have great fun at Publix riding in the cart together.

A Day Out With Thomas

Last weekend, we took our annual trip to the Gold Coast Railroad Museum in Miami to see Thomas the Tank Engine.  It is a big thrill for Brody to see Thomas and play with all the great toys that they have setup for the kids.  There is a also a story time and quite a few outdoor amusement games for the kids to play.

Chase Playing Basketball

Last night, I put Chase down and brought over the basketball hoop so that he would stay occupied while I turned on the water in the bathtub. When I was in the bathroom, I was surprised to hear the noise that the hoop makes when you make a basket. I came back in sure enough Chase had made his first basket.

Chase's 9-Month Update

Chase had his 9-month checkup today. He had his final Hepatitis B shot, which he took like a man.  He now weighs 19 lbs 6 oz and is 28.5 inches tall. That puts him in the 35th percentile for weight and 65th percentile for height. Aside from the allergy concerns, he is a healthy kid. He has been sleeping well, eating well, and crawling around and playing well.

Disney World

We took another trip to Disney World last weekend. We went up on Saturday morning and went straight to Disney's Hollywood Studios. There seems to be more of an emphasis on Pixar characters and Disney Junior characters which is great for Brody since those are all of Brody's favorite Disney characters. We saw Jack & the Never Land Pirates, Lightning McQueen & Mater from Cars, and Woody & Buzz from Toy Story just to name a few. Also, the Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun Parade was terrific. The next morning, we went to the Magic Kingdom and saw Buzz Lightyear and a few other rides before we got back on the road to come home. It was a bit chilly, but it was a really nice family trip. We can't wait to do it again.

Chase's Allergies

We got the results of Chase's allergy test this morning. Chase has allergies to cow milk, peanuts, and egg whites. Hard to tell how serious each of these allergies is at this point. It is very possible that he will grow out of them. They don't affect us much now, since he is only eating baby food, and Laura is still nursing him. Dairy is a big part of Brody's diet. Cheese, yogurt, milk, and scrambled eggs are all staples of his diet. It will definitely be an adventure to see how we deal with this when he does eat real foods.
