Chase Being Goofy

Chase can be goofy sometimes.  When he sees a picture that he likes, he gets up really close to it.  Below that, is a picture that illustrates how tough it is to keep him in the shopping cart.  For that matter it is hard to keep him sitting in one spot anywhere.  You can see that from the video of him drinking his almond milk and playing around while not letting the cup leave his mouth.

Summer With Mom

With school out for the summer, Laura is playing stay-at-home mom with the boys. They are all having a great time.

Brody is enjoying swimming lessons (just in time for the Olympics, Brody will be pulling for Ryan Lochte).

Brody is also going to a gymnastics class once a week. At first, I thought that gymnastics for boys was a little girly, but I was wrong. Brody absolutely loves it. It is great for Brody to run, jump around and be climb all over the place while indoors and in the air conditioning. It is too hot to play outside at the park.

Unless that park is Plantation Woods Park. It is a park in Plantation that the boys have been going to. It has a nice water play area that helps with the heat.

Brody also enjoys bowling with his friends.

Chase's One-Year Checkup

Chase had his one-year checkup on Friday. Not surprisingly, he came in as a bit of a lightweight. He is 29 inches tall and weighs 20 lbs. I guess not being able to eat dairy and egg products leads to a slightly more healthy diet. Otherwise, he checked out perfectly and took his shots like a champ.

Brody loves going to Target so that he can look at the toys. On the way over to the toy section, we stopped off in the sporting goods section. While I was looking for a glove for Brody to play catch, he found himself a helmet. This is what I saw when I turned around.

Chase's 1st Birthday Party

We had a great party for Chase's birthday. The party was at Bayview Park and it was a baseball theme (Yankees). Because of Chase's allergies, he had a vegan chocolate cake that was surprisingly tasty. Thank you to everybody that celebrated with us and made it such a special day.

Chase Update at 11 Months

Chase has been moving around quite a bit more lately.  He has been crawling for a while, but lately he's been picking himself up onto tables and chairs to stand up.  It gets a little tricky when we are giving him a bath because all he wants to do is stand up.

Chase has been saying Dadda for about a month now, and a few days ago he started saying Momma as well.

Chase has been eating very well.  He is starting to prefer to feed himself.  He'll eat just about anything you put on his plate.  He loves peas just like Brody did.  He has also been eating blueberries and waffles.  Chase has also done very well drinking his almond milk with the sippy cup.

Easter

Brody and Chase had a great Easter. We saw many family and friends this past weekend. Laura's Uncle Danny and his family came to town. John's Aunt Cam and Cousin Jill also came to town with Jill's daughters. We had a terrific time visiting with all the family over the long holiday weekend.

On Saturday, we took the boys to an Easter egg hunt in Weston that was terrific. One thing is for sure, you don't want to be late to this Easter egg hunt. It was over almost as fast as it started. The wave of kids ran out to center field, while Brody stayed near the foul line and grabbed all the eggs he could get. Then the wave came back towards the foul line and you had to be careful it was like a mob scene.
