This Summer, Laura bought the Summer Savings Pass. It gets you unlimited admission to Lion Country Safari, Miami Seaquarium, Zoo Miami, and The Museum of Discovery and Science until the end of September. Not a bad deal. Here are some of the highlights from the trips to Miami Seaquarium and The Museum of Discovery and Science.

Trip to the Breakers
On July 5th we took a Melnicoff family trip to The Breakers in Palm Beach. We always have a great time on our family trips. This trip was a particularly relaxing trip. There are quite a few activities for the adults and kids alike including a terrific playground, a basketball court, a challenging golf course, three pools with one of them specially for kids and so much more. We stayed at The Breakers a month before Chase was born and it is interesting to see how Chase and Brody compare at nearly the same age.

Chase's Birthday Party
Chase had his birthday party at Bayview Park a few weeks ago (I know I am a little late with this post). We were really fortunate with the weather that day. It rained everyday for the last week and it started raining right before the party, but it stopped raining just in time for the party. We got the only 2 hours of sun that day for his party.
Laura did a terrific job, as usual, planning the party. We had a bounce house because Chase gets really excited whenever he sees a bounce house, so we couldn't pass it up. We also got a shaved ice machine. The food was the best part in my opinion. We got a 4 foot long LaSpada's hoagie. For those of you that haven't had LaSpada's, I suggest you fix that. On top of that, we also got a chicken tenders platter from a new place called PDQ. You should check that place out, too. Finally, we had a cookie cake from Publix (better than Mrs Field's, I kid you not) and vegan cupcakes (Chase's allergies).
We want to thank everyone that celebrated with us!

Chase Is Almost 2
Chase is almost 2. He deserves an update. He has been doing very well at his school. His teachers love him, probably because he is one of the older ones in his class. He will be home with Mommy for the summer so they are waiting to move him up to the PK2 class. He is more feisty than Brody was (more likely to whack you if he doesn't agree with what you are saying), but he is still a pretty well behaved kid. Younger children have to be more feisty to a certain extent. He loves building houses with his Legos. He is a big fan of Thomas the Train (he calls it Choo Choo) and Mickey Mouse.
Chase loves his bedtime routine. It starts out with a bath with Brody. After he gets out of the bath and is done drying off, he starts pointing to his Thomas the Train toothbrush and says Choo Choo. After brushing his teeth, he moves on to putting on his pajamas. We sit in his chair and read his books. While we are sitting in his chair, if he notices that his drawers are open he says "uh, oh" and points to the drawer till we close it. His favorite books are the Thomas the Train books, Go, Dog. Go!, Goodnight Moon, and My Big Truck Book. Next, we stand up and say goodnight to his Thomas the Train stickers on the wall as well as his Barney and Curious George stuffed animals. Finally we sing a few songs (Thomas the Train Roll Call or Jake and the Pirates Roll up the Map). I also sing the ABCs and spell out his name that is above his bed. When I put him down, he usually stays down. Occasionally, he stands up and I give him a hug and walk out. He'll cry as I am walking out the door, but it lasts less than a minute. Then he lays down and goes to sleep. Chase is a great sleeper and the key to a great sleeper is having a great routine.
Chase loves Knock, Knock jokes. Here is a video of Chase trying to say Knock, Knock.
Here is a video of Chase playing basketball.

Easter Weekend
We had a pretty busy Easter weekend. Actually, our Easter celebration started the week before at an Easter egg hunt at Rolling Oaks Park in Southwest Ranches. On Saturday before Easter we went to another Easter egg hunt at Weston Regional Park. Friendly advice, don't be late to the Weston Easter egg hunt. It starts at 10am sharp and it only lasts about 45 seconds. There were thousands of kids on the 4 baseball fields. On Easter Sunday, we went over to Mimi and Papa's house for another egg hunt. Our festivities concluded at the Greenberg's house for their annual Easter feast. Cindy always has quite the spread. This year she made lamb chops that were amazing.

Brody Learning To Play Golf
Holiday Park has great activities for little kids to learn sports. Currently, Brody is learning to play golf. He loves going to the sessions with all the other kids. The challenge for Brody is that he is a lefty trying to learn to swing righty. Here is a video of his efforts.
